REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROVIDERS

Yumna wanted to be the first in her family to pursue a career in healthcare so she could give back to the community she grew up in and help others become the healthiest version of themselves.  As a primary care and reproductive health provider, she values being there for patients during life’s more sensitive and vulnerable moments, from their first Pap smear to becoming a first-time parent. Yumna strives to make every experience feel less overwhelming by explaining the “why this matters” and “what to expect,” helping patients feel confident taking ownership of their health.  

Debbie decided to become a nurse practitioner so that she could help patients feel empowered around their own healthcare.  For her, sexual and reproductive health is an area that can be sensitive for many patients, requiring attention to more than a patient’s symptoms. Debbie’s aim is to make sure that patients feel safe and heard, to help them overcome any fears they may have around routine screenings, and to provide care with warmth and attention. Debbie hopes that all of her patients can leave feeling more knowledgeable and more confident about how to stay happy and healthy. 

Suzanne seeks to build trusting partnerships with her patients through conversation – both in English or Spanish. This helps her tailor treatment plans and connect patients with other Axis program. Before joining Axis, Suzanne volunteered with medical programs in many different countries, where she gained special experience working with people with diabetes, dietary problems, and cardiac issues.
