I am thrilled to share the latest updates on our new Livermore clinic renovation, made possible by your generous support and the commitment of our community. We’ve made extensive renovations to ensure compliance with ADA standards, increasing greater accessibility for all. This includes adding new ramps, installing an elevator, and reconfiguring our waiting room to better serve patients using walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers.
Our timeline has shifted slightly due to necessary upgrades, particularly with PG&E for our new elevator. We now anticipate opening for patient care in late fall, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in early winter.
This clinic is designed to meet the growing needs of our community, serving as a one-stop shop where patients can access affordable dental care, behavioral health, primary care, and enrollment services—all under one roof. Our culturally sensitive and bilingual services ensure every patient feels seen, heard, and respected.
Key recent improvements include:
- Enhanced Accessibility: New ramps, reconfigured waiting rooms, raised glass walls for safety, and ADA-compliant reception areas and restrooms with baby changing stations.
- Patient Safety and Privacy: Eye wash stations, a ceiling sound masking system for HIPAA compliance, and secure vaccine storage with independent HVAC systems.
- Environmental Considerations: Drought-tolerant landscaping to replace grass and trees removed for new ramps.

We’ve also completed several other essential tasks, such as painting the exterior, installing security cameras, and preparing for permanent internet installation and signage. The patient parking lot will be slurry sealed and restriped by late September.
Our new clinic will significantly enhance our service capacity, with the potential for 20,000 visits per year for 5,600 patients, including 9,000 medical visits, 7,300 dental visits, and 3,700 mental health visits. The clinic will feature six dental chairs, six medical exam rooms, three mental health counseling rooms, a health insurance enrollment office, community health worker office, telehealth rooms, labs, and other support areas.
The newly painted exterior is a subtle yet fresh update to the building!
We are deeply grateful for every donation, words of encouragement, and pledge of support that has made this possible. As we prepare to open our new clinic, we do so with immense gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility. We are reminded of the trust placed in us by our community and the importance of our mission to provide whole-person, integrated care.
Your support has been instrumental in making this dream a reality. Together, we can continue to make a difference, one patient at a time. Thank you for being a crucial part of our mission to provide accessible, holistic health care to all.
With gratitude,
Liz Perez-Howe
